Outside the temple were some souvenir counters for people who wish to buy greetings or charms for friends and family, some of which may be very useful to us. After visiting this fairly decent temple we went to the very popular and well known kiyomizu temple. This temple was very big and is located at the top of a mountain, which greeted us with an amazing view over the city Kyoto. On the way up the hill there were some very unique stores selling very traditional japanese items including katanas and shirikens.
At lunch we had a buffet at the handicraft centre where they had some very delicate and detailed models and lots of kimonos for sale. As well as the two structures we also went to the Nijo castle and the kinkakuji cottage. The castle was a shogun castle where it was built so it could look over for the city. It has a very special anti bugler system made into the floors in the castle so it could detect any unwanted guests and criminals. The cottage is where the shoguns would go for a summer break and spend time relaxing and spend time with their families.
